The price of the monthly Navigo Pass has been confirmed, and will increase by 2.8% from January 2025, from €86.40 to €88.80. This increase, confirmed on Wednesday December 11, is part of a financial agreement between Île-de-France Mobilités and the government providing for regular increases until 2031. This is also the case for the Imagine R card, we take stock.

With all the changes in January, comes the price of the Navigo pass! From January 1, 2025, users of public transport in the Île-de-France region will see a further increase in the price of the monthly Navigo pass, which will rise to €88.80 from the current €86.40, an increase of €2.40. Although contained, this 2.8% increase reflects an effort shared between the State, companies and local authorities to guarantee the financing of the Île-de-France transport network.

This decision was confirmed by a vote of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) on December 11, 2024. The latter sets a maximum fare increase limited to +1% annual inflation. With inflation estimated at 1.8% for 2025, the increase remains within this limit, enabling the network to be maintained while limiting the impact on users.

Impact on subscriptions

In addition to the monthly rate, the annual Navigo Pass will also see an increase, rising to €976.80, i.e. an extra €26.40. By comparison, the increase for 2024 had been €2.30 for the monthly pass, a rate similar to that forecast for the coming years.

The Imagine R pass has also been increased by 9.90 euros, bringing the total cost to 384.30 euros. The price of the Imagine R Junior pass will rise to 16.80 euros, from the current 16.40 euros.

Occasional users will not be spared: from January , a one-way ticket valid for all zones will be introduced, with a fare of €2.50 per unit, or €1.99 for holders of the Pass Liberté +. The latter also includes free connections between buses and streetcars, a novelty that could appeal to regular commuters.

An increase explained by the financial agreement

Chaired by Valérie Pécresse, IDFM justifies this increase by a growing need for financing, despite the introduction of measures to limit the burden on users. The authority points out that these increases are moderate, thanks to a rise in the Versement Mobilités paid by companies and the contribution of local authorities, which will rise by 2% in 2025.

This " tariff shield " guarantees that annual increases will remain contained. However, customers can expect regular rate adjustments until 2031, when the current financial plan is due to be completed.

For occasional users, a new Navigo Liberté + all-zonepass will also be available in early January. You can already order your card to benefit from journeys at €1.99 instead of €2.50.
