Funfairs are allowed to reopen from June 9, the president of the Fédération des Forains en France announced this Wednesday May 19. This announcement reassures carnies who threated to block the country as theme parks are allowed to reopen for phase two of the lockdown exit, namely from June 9, and they were given no information.

President of the union trade for funfair industrials president Nicolas Lemay threatened to block the country. On what ground? “commercial discrimination”. He though the Council of State decided funfairswere cultural events and as soon as the health conditions enable it, they could reopen at the same time as movie theaters, theaters and others”. But the government decided otherwise.

The reopening date for funfairs has been announced late, this Tuesday May 18, late in the evening, while carnies announced they will throw a “slow-down” operation the next day. They will reopen at the same time as theme parks, on June 9, giving them three weeks to be prepared, contact city halls, get parking authorizations, set up their infrastructures and communicate. A short period of time, but they believe in it.

We told you, the SNELAC – the union trade for places of leisure, attractions, and culture – announced theme parks will not be subject to the health pass, following concertation with Ministers Alain Griset and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne. Carnies are still waiting for their new health protocol.

In Île-de-France, the Foire du Trône was to open in April, and the Fête des Loges bet on returning on June 25.
