If you've decided to give up on self-serviceVélib', electric Velligo and other commuter bikes and invest in your own two-wheeled machine, you're in luck, because the Region is offering a number of grants to help you buy your own mechanical or electric bike!
This " bike bonus", as the Region calls it, offers various forms of assistance enabling you tosave at least several hundred euros: with currentinflation , this is not a good plan to pass up, especially if you're planning to buy a bike! If you're aged between 15 and 25, the Region will give you €100 towards the purchase of a new mechanical bike or one reconditioned by a professional. And if you're thinking of going electric, don't be jealous: there are schemes to help you convert your mechanical bike into an electric one, provided you buy an electrification kit which will then be installed by a professional: for this, a grant of €200 is available. Otherwise, for any purchase of a folding, cargo, adapted or electrically-assisted bike, you can benefit fromassistance ranging from €400 to €1,200, with a ceiling of 50% of the purchase price: if your bike only costs €600, the assistance will be €300.
Think about it! This bike subsidy remains particularly attractive for many Parisians and Ile-de-France residents, at a time when self-service electric scooters will no longer be permitted in the capital from the end of the summer.
