It's a day of disruption in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, this Tuesday, December 3, 2024. After the numerous breakdowns, closures and other disruptions to public transport (closure of RER line B, line K, line 7 of the Paris metro and Invalides station), it's the turn of the A10 freeway to be severely disrupted at the end of the day, this time for a more tragic reason.
Following a serious accident between two vehicles, theA10 freeway is currently partially closed to Paris-bound traffic - from the fork of the A11 and A10 to Les Ulis in the Essonne region (91). The accident, which took place just after the Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines toll plaza in the Yvelines department, resulted in the death of one man and two emergency injuries.
According to actu.fr, an elderly person was driving the wrong way on the freeway. The accident is said to have occurred at around 4.30pm today.
For the time being, no information concerning the resumption of normal road traffic has been communicated by the gendarmerie or the prefecture. In the meantime, a detour has been set up.
