Since December 24, 2024, the Rappel Conso website - a dangerous products alert site run by the French Government - has issued a new recall alert on various brands of dog and cat food. The reason? Traces of salmonella spp, the agent responsible for salmonellosis, have been discovered, posing a potential risk of salmonella poisoning to you or your pets.
The products concerned by this massive recall come from leading dog and cat food brands such as Canaillou, Ultra Premium Direct, Orlando, Plenima... They are sold by several supermarket chains, including Carrefour, E.Leclerc, Intermarché and Lidl.
Salmonellosis is a bacterium that can cause serious illness in animals (and humans), with severe symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and fever... So, if you have one or more of the affected products at home, return them to the point of sale for a refund.
For full details of the product references concerned and the risks associated with each product, please refer to the Rappel Conso website.
