The MAC VAL, Val-de-Marne's museum of contemporary art, is opening its doors to us free of charge this Saturday, June 1, 2024, for the new edition of the Nuit Blanche.

Paris is celebrating: this Saturday, June 1, 2024, Nuit Blanche returns for its 23rd edition in Paris and the Île-de-France region! This major annual cultural event celebratescontemporary art in all its forms, transforming the capital and surrounding towns into an open-air museum.

What better way to celebrate contemporary art than by spending this Nuit Blanche in a museum dedicated to this movement? MAC VAL, the Musée d'Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne, welcomes us this evening for a free nocturne full of surprises. We look forward to seeing you on June 1 in Vitry-sur-Seine, a stone's throw from tramway line 9.

The museum offers a variety of events for the general public, to rediscover contemporary art and the French and international artists of the moment. This Nuit Blanche is an opportunity to admire new installations and performances, and to broaden our vision of the art world. Prepare to be surprised!

The program for this Nuit Blanche 2024 at the MAC VAL :

  • 5pm - 8pm - "FAIX"
    Performance by the SUZANNE collective
"FAIX" is a reading-performance of sports commentary transcripts performed by SUZANNE. These narratives, read slowly and disembodied by the four performers, become for a moment a sacred liturgy that questions our relationship to effort and performance, and inscribe this performance-reading in the essential desire to transform discourse into poetry.
    Duration: continuous

  • 6pm - "COMMENTAIRES (Un Coup de Tête jamais n'abolira le Hasard)"
Show conceived and written by Nicolas Richard.
"Commentaires (Un Coup de Tête jamais n'abolira le Hasard)" is a foot-oratorio performed by a duo of performers - she's an Italian soprano singer, he's a French sound poet - who re-enact the 2006 soccer World Cup final between France and Italy. Using television commentaries of the match, rewritten, re-commented and doctored for the occasion, they retrace the final. Between jubilant accelerations and almost absurd textual loops, they give shape to a grand cut-up of sound and song.
    Running time: 50 min
    All ages 12 and up

An evening of art and the unexpected, not to be missed if you happen to be in the Val-de-Marne!
