Good news for amateur marathon runners… The Olympics Committee has announced that for Paris Olympics 2024, everyone can sign up and take part in the marathon. A unique experience and a golden opportunity for all sport and running enthusiasts.

This is a first in the Olympic Games story… The Olympic Committee has announced they will open the registrations to the marathon for Paris 2024 to everyone, offering the chance to anyone – professional or not – to try their hands and maybe win a medal.

It’s a big step towards our ambition for unique Games” Organization Committee chairman Tony Estanguet explains. He adds in a press release that “several race formats will be available allowing to everyone – no matter their level – to live the unique experience of the Olympic Games out.”

A challenge that may not be the only one open to everyone since the organization committee currently works with international federations and the IOC (International Olympic Committee) the possibility to extend this idea to other sports. Yet, in terms of organization and registration, nothing has been revealed or announced so far. However, to take part in this Olympic contest, you’ll have to get your trainers out and your sport outfit on and start your training now if you want to have the luck to face the best amateur marathon runners… And the weather is beautiful, so no more excuses… Let’s run, friends!
