Every year, the Panorama du Cinéma Colombien is organized by a noisily-named association, Le Chien qui aboie. Founded in Paris in 2009, Le Chien qui aboie is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Latin American cinema in Europe. Every year, the Panorama du Cinéma Colombien selection highlights the richness of this fast-growing cinema. The 2024 edition will be held from October 15 to 20 at the Reflet Médicis, after opening at the L'Arlequin cinema.
For a week, Paris will be on Colombian time, with the 12th edition's abundant programming, including screenings of recent Colombian films in all genres(fiction, documentary, experimental, animation), round-table discussions, meetings with filmmakers and many other surprises on the program.
A total of 8 feature films (6 of which will compete for the Jury and Audience Awards), 12 shorts (also competing for the Jury and Audience Awards), 3 features in the parallel Latin American section and 6 shorts competing for the Young Audience Award in the Petit Chiot section.
A festival tackling various contemporary themes on Colombia and Latin America, questioning, experimenting and redefining the formal and thematic perspectives of a region of the world little represented on Parisian screens.
