Almost everyone has seen The Lord of the Rings. This interplanetary success, based on Tolkien's novel, was released over fifteen years ago, and is still going strong. Indeed, Gaumont and Pathé cinemas have decided to pay a new tribute to Peter Jackson 's trilogy by showing the films in long version throughout France.
Instead of running a marathon, which takes up a good part of a weekend and only motivates the bravest fans, the cinemas have chosen to show the trilogy over three weeks. The first part of The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring (3h48), screens this Friday, March 9, while the other two episodes are shown in the following weeks: The Two Towers (3h55) on Thursday, March 15, and The Return of the King (4h23) on Thursday, March 22. Each screening will be preceded by a presentation by cinephile Philippe Rouyer, who will take you behind the scenes of the saga .
A great way to end the month of March, don't you think?
