A slice of family life... This is what Robert Guédiguian proposes with his latest film, Gloria Mundi, broadcast this Friday, March 10 on France 5, at 9 pm. A feature film that revolves around the daily life of a family and the release from prison of Daniel, played by Gérard Meylan(Cézanne et moi, La Villa...), discovering that he is the happy grandfather of little Gloria.
A film presented at the Venice Film Festival 2019 and won the award for best actress for Ariane Ascaride (La Villa, Les Chatouilles...), who plays Sylvie in the film. On the casting side, there are also several leading actors such as Jean-Pierre Darroussin(La Promesse de l'Aube, Chacun pour tous...), Anaïs Demoustier(Sauver ou Périr, Alice et le Maire...) but also Robinson Stévenin (Fui Banquero, La Villa...), Lola Neymark (Brèves de Comptoir, Une historie de fou...), Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet (La Douleur, Le Cahier Noir...) or Diouc Koma (Comment j'ai rencontré mon père, Qui m'aime me suive !...).
Daniel gets out of prison where he was incarcerated for many years and returns to Marseille. Sylvie, his ex-wife, told him he was a grandfather: their daughter Mathilda has just given birth to a little Gloria. Time has passed, everyone has made or remade his life. By coming to meet the baby, Daniel discovers a blended family which fights by all means to remain standing. When a twist of fate shatters this fragile balance, Daniel, who has nothing left to lose, will try everything to help them.
