Synopsis: In the peaceful world of Petit Nicolas, there's Dad, Mom, school and, above all, his gang of friends. They're called Les Invincibles, but above all, they're inseparable. Or so they think. But when Dad receives a promotion and announces that the family is moving to the South of France, Nicolas' world falls apart.
How could he imagine life without his best friends? Without Alceste's croissants, Agnan's glasses, Clotaire's mischief, far from their beloved wasteland? With the help of his friends, Nicolas sets out to find a mysterious treasure that could help him prevent this terrible move.
In the world of Petit Nicolas, everything seems perfect: there's his Dad(Jean-Paul Rouve), his Mom(Audrey Lamy), the school, and of course, his inseparable band of friends he calls Les Invincibles. But one day, the balance of this little universe is threatened when Dad announces that he's been promoted and the family has to move to the South of France. For Nicolas, the idea of leaving his friends, his habits and the wasteland where they play is unbearable. With the help of his friends Alceste, Clotaire, Agnan and the others, he devises a plan: find a hidden treasure that will enable him to convince his parents to stay. Thus begins an adventure full of twists and turns, as Nicolas and his gang embark on an imaginative quest to preserve their precious friendship.
Le Trésor du Petit Nicolas (The Treasure of Little Nicolas) is aimed at a family audience, in particular children aged 8 and over, but also their parents who have grown up with the stories of Little Nicolas. The film combines humor and emotion, exploring universal themes such as friendship, change and the fear of losing one's bearings. Julien Rappeneau succeeds in capturing the gentle, mischievous spirit of Goscinny and Sempé's universe, while adding a touch of adventure, with the quest for treasure at the heart of the story. The film is also distinguished by its endearing characters, especially Nicolas, charmingly played by Ilan Debrabant, and his parents, played by Audrey Lamy and Jean-Paul Rouve, who bring a warm, realistic dynamic to this bittersweet comedy. Those who enjoyed films such as Le Petit Nicolas or La Guerre des Boutons will find an equally delightful and tender adventure here.
