The ASVOFF Festival is dedicated to the world of fashion and its great figures. From November 7 to 10, 2024, short films and documentaries will be shown on the screens of Dover Street Market, the trendy concept store in Paris' Marais district. On the program? Screenings, talks & exceptional encounters between couture lovers!

Mark your calendars! The ASVOFF Festival, "A Shaded View on Fashion Film", arrives in Paris for four days of fashion-cinema hybrids, from November 7 to 10, 2024. Created in 2008 by journalist and stylist Diane Pernet, this year's event celebrates its 16th edition with new short films, documentaries and performances dedicated to the world of fashion and its great figures. The festival will take place at Dover Street Market, the trendy concept store in the heart of the Marais district.

This year, ASVOFF boasts an exceptional jury, headed by the iconic Michèle Lamy, Rick Owens' muse, collaborator and partner. Alongside her, an eclectic cast: German costume designer Bina Daigeler, producer Fanny Fragu, director Matt Lambert, American actor Harry Goaz and punk rock band Fecal Matter.

The event kicks off on Thursday November 7 with the screening of the documentary film "Quant", directed by Sadie Frost, which pays tribute to the legendary Mary Quant, the British designer who popularized the miniskirt. As a foretaste (before the official opening), festival-goers can discover "Fashioned Out", a film commissioned by Galeries Lafayette in 2002, offering a nostalgic dive into 2000s fashion in Paris, Milan, New York and London.

Other documentaries illuminating the festival include "Happy Clothes" by Michael Selditch, revealing Patricia Field's creative process as costume designer for series and films such as Sex and the City, Emily in Paris and The Devil Wears Prada. Also on view is "Siberian Dream" by Janet Paxton Gardner, tracing Irina Pantaeva's journey from the Siberian cold to the catwalks of Paris and New York.

For its 16th year, the film festival also features eight new themes, ranging from mental health in fashion to AI-generated films, the Queer archive and Chinese fashion films. At the closing ceremony, two prizes will be awarded, one for excellence in film writing, the other for the most daring and innovative ideas.

The must-attend event for fashion and film addicts!
