We're getting closer to the end of the series! Episode 6 of The Last of Us went live this Monday, February 20 on Amazon Prime Video, and so far, it's one of the best in the series.
We know it well, it's when we release the tension that the emotion wins us. We find Joel and Ellie, three months after their fateful separation with Henri and Sam. Our duo finally finds the trace of Joel's brother, holed up in a self-sufficient village hidden from everyone. This is the opportunity, for a large part of the episode, to hang up the guns, and to develop the characters a little more.
For the first time since the beginning of the show, Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) finally cracks the shell and shows himself in a new light: that of a man as scared as he is weakened, whose greatest fear is to lose Ellie, 20 years after having lost his own daughter. This gives a bitter tinge to this sixth chapter, which is full of emotion, although often without subtlety. The relationship between Joel and Ellie takes another step forward, and becomes more and more touching.
With such an attachment, we suspect that the end of the series, which is approaching, will only break our hearts, as The Last of Us is often cruel with its characters. It is when the series manages to attach us to them that the worst happens to them. Very faithful to the original video game, the end of this episode gives us only one desire, to go directly to the next week.
See you next Monday for episode 7, which, we have no doubt, will have many surprises in store for us!
