The official trailer for the long-awaited film Mystery in Venice has been unveiled. This new investigation byHercule Poirot promises a supernatural thriller, directed by Oscar-winner Kenneth Branagh. Scheduled for theatrical release on September 13, 2023, the film promises suspense and mystery in the City of the Doges.
The film Mystère à Venise (A Haunting in Venice) is based on Agatha Christie's short story"The Halloween Crime", also known as"The Pumpkin Party". For the occasion, the plot has been transposed to Venice, promising a unique atmosphere for this thriller. Audiences will be reunited with the famous detective Hercule Poirot, played by Kenneth Branagh, in a fascinating supernatural setting.
The cast of Mystery in Venice includes a chorus of talented actors such as Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio and recentBest Actress Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.
The film is set in post-war Venice on All Hallows' Eve. Hercule Poirot, now retired and in self-imposed exile, finds himself at a seance in a disused palazzo, supposedly haunted. The murder of one of the guests propels him into a mysterious investigation full of shadows and secrets.
Mystery in Venice is 20th Century Studios' third adaptation of a work by Agatha Christie, following the success of The Crime of the Orient Express in 2017 and Death on the Nile in 2022. The production team includes well-known figures such as screenwriter Michael Green, as well as producers Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, Louise Killin, James Prichard and Mark Gordon.
