Directed by Stuart Beattie, best known for his work on Collateral, I, Frankenstein is a blend of action, horror and thriller. Inspired by the legendary character created by Mary Shelley, the film revisits the Frankenstein myth with a modern, visually stylized approach. Aaron Eckhart, renowned for his roles in The Dark Knight and Thank You for Smoking, plays Adam, Frankenstein's creature, who finds himself at the heart of an age-old battle between two supernatural forces. Alongside Eckhart, Bill Nighy(Underworld) and Yvonne Strahovski(The Handmaid's Tale) add a dark, mysterious dimension to this intense tale.
Adam, the creature created by Victor Frankenstein, has survived the centuries thanks to a genetic anomaly. Today, he wanders a Gothic metropolis where he discovers a merciless war between two clans of immortals: the gargoyles, protectors of humanity, and the demons, who seek to destroy the world. Despite his desire to remain aloof from this conflict, Adam soon finds himself caught up in this ancestral struggle. Armed with his superhuman strength and fighting skills, he must choose sides and engage in an epic battle that will determine the future of mankind.
I, Frankenstein is aimed at fans of action films and horrificthrillers who appreciate supernatural tales with a dark, gothic tone. The film stands out for its blend of intense action and horror elements, while offering a new perspective on the iconic figure of Frankenstein. If you've enjoyed films like Underworld or Van Helsing, I, Frankenstein could well capture your attention with its spectacular fight scenes and twilight atmosphere.
Available on Prime Video from September 6, 2024, I, Frankenstein offers a visually arresting, action-packed adventure starring Aaron Eckhart as a lonely, tormented anti-hero. The film plunges you into a universe where the supernatural and the frightening combine to create a story as captivating as it is intense. An ideal cinematic experience for fans of fantasy and myth revisited.
