After Murder on the Orient Express, why not follow in the footsteps of Doctor Grant...? ? That's what The One Escape, anescape game company based in Paris's 2nd arrondissement, has in store for you, with the most astounding adventure, Chemical Hallucinations at Dr. Grant's.
What does it involve? You've heard rumors of strange experiments taking place on campus in the lab of Dr. Grant, a mad scientist working on an experimental molecule that can increase a person's intellectual capacity tenfold. One of your friends, a computer whiz, suggests the heist of the century: break into the doctor's laboratory and steal the marvelous substance. Unfortunately, the attempted break-in triggers an anti-intrusion system and powerful nerve gas, causing you to experience numerous chemical hallucinations.
It's a room that's sure to give you a run for your money, as the sign announces the color by plunging you into a totally inverted universe. An adventure that should appeal to budding chemists and other curious scientists. And as always, you've got an hour to solve all sorts of puzzles and get out of the room.
The Sortiraparis editorial team had the chance to try it out. And our verdict is clear: go for it! Aside from the puzzles to solve, some of which gave us a hard time (but which are not inaccessible), the upside-down space is well worth a look, and adds a little extra difficulty since you have to interact with the room's décor in reverse. We particularly appreciate the ingenious use of special effects and the immersive staging, making the whole extremely coherent.
A great opportunity to have fun with family and friends, and who knows, maybe you'll be able to outwit Dr. Grant... ? Shall we make a reservation, folks?
