The Last of Us Part II Remastered trailer:

The announcement was made by Naughty Dog on Twitter, making the release of this remastered version official.

The remastered edition will include a special"W.L.F." edition, comprising a steelbook, four pins, a patch and 47 collectible cards. The price of this edition has not yet been revealed, but as our colleagues at JV.com explain, it may well be on a par with theFirefly Edition of The Last of Us Part I, at around 99.99 euros. Holders of a physical copy of the game on PS4 will be able to upgrade digitally for 10 euros.

But be warned: this fresh version isn't just a visual upgrade! It introduces native 4K integration, unlocked framerate for compatible TVs, enhanced textures and improved viewing distance. What's more, the game will be compatible with DualSense controller features, offering enhanced immersion.

Players will also discover new outfits, weapon skins and new game modes such as"Guitar Free Play" and"Speedrun". The"Lost Levels" mode will allow players to explore three brand-new levels, originally developed for the first version of the game. Another notable mode is"No Return", where players will have to survive as long as possible on a pre-established map, collecting resources and unlocking new characters.

Our review of The Last of Us 2 Remastered:

What's the value of this remaster, whose original game was released four years ago? Graphically speaking, we can see the difference! The game is far more beautiful than its first PS4 version, far more pleasing to the eye. Textures, colors... We're dazzled by the result! Note that we played in fidelity mode. Whether you're playing in 4K or Ultra HD, you're in for a treat!

As for the story, nothing has changed: it's still a masterpiece, and we're still enjoying following the stories of Joel, Ellie and Abby. Special mention should be made of one of the side missions, in which Ellie plays guitar and sings Take on me by the band a-Ah, which made us fall in love with the game all over again.

But what interests us most here are the various additions to the game, namely a "No Return" mode in the same vein as Rogue-lite, a "Lost Levels" mode with audio commentaries on three unfinished levels, and a "Free Guitar" mode, for playing guitar. As for the "No Return" mode, it's a fine addition that will give even the most experienced players a hard time. Every time you lose your life, the map reboots and changes, so there's never a dull moment.

As for the "Lost Levels" mode, Naughty Dog offers three unfinished levels cut from the final game. Three levels accompanied by audio commentaries from the developers, for a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the game. And finally, the "Free Guitar" mode, which invites you, as its name suggests, to strum the strings of a guitar at your leisure. Note that you can choose between acoustic, electric or banjo guitar. Three modes among other additions (speed run, etc.), which should please fans of the saga.

All that's left is for you to get back in the game, folks. To your controllers!
