Pucks: we tested the shuffleboard chain in Poissonnière

Shuffleboard, the new game in fashion in Paris! Shuffled, a Boom Boom Villette chain, opened a few months ago, and now a new establishment (not yet franchised, but coming soon) has sprung up like a mushroom in the 10th arrondissement... Discover Pucks, a new shuffle bar opening on April 11, 2025 in the heart of Faubourg Poissonnière. This new establishment offers shuffleboard, a shuffleboard game somewhere between pétanque and table curling, but not only...

Before going any further, let's take a look at shuffleboard: a game of skill that involves sliding pucks across a smooth surface to reach a scoring area. Extremely popular in North America, the UK and Scandinavia, it can be played one-on-one or in teams.

As for Pucks, the brand offers three game lanes where participants can play against each other, all in a convivial atmosphere. " Between two throws of PUCKS, accompany your games with our selection of cocktails and finger food to share ", says the establishment on its website. And that's what the concept is all about: a bar that also focuses on a catering offer, including cocktails and dishes to share. The aim is to create a space where games are used as a pretext for exchanges and encounters.

Our opinion of Pucks:

We had the chance to preview Pucks the day before it opened. As far as the shuffleboard is concerned, there's nothing to complain about: the tables are as classic as they come, and will give you an extremely fun time sliding pucks across the table. What's interesting here is the - small - variety of game modes, which allow you to do something other than classic shuffleboard and spice up your games a little.

As far as the bar is concerned, the menu is pretty nice, with an attractive range of both boards and drinks, and in the low price bracket for the quality of the products (beers included). It's a clever choice, but one that doesn't encourage consumption... And with good reason: the main reason for coming is to play!

The only drawback is the very small space, which, while encouraging conviviality, would have benefited from a little more space to accommodate an extra table. It's also worth noting - and it's the boss who's telling us this - that formulas with games and food/drinks will be offered for small groups, not forgetting team-building and company seminars (no 100-person teams either, but ideal for small local or regional SMEs), for whom the place is a natural if you want to organize something.

It's also an ideal spot for birthdays (even children's, with a dedicated offer), EVGs and EVJFs. In short, a great place to discover for shuffleboard enthusiasts or those who want to discover the activity in a cosy, friendly setting. All you have to do is make up your own mind!
