Helldivers 2 continues to fascinate gamers the world over... Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and released last February, Helldivers 2 offers - for those of you in the back who weren't paying attention - a fast-paced multiplayer game in Starship Troopers mode, in which you conquer planets, in squads, at the hands of Terminids (an insectoid race) and Automatons (a robotic race in Terminator mode...).
In addition to intense combat and mission completion, Helldivers 2 also lets you unlock a variety of outfits and upgrade your ship. These upgrades are very important, as they will enable you to improve the stratagems in your possession (i.e., the ability to send weapons from your ship, or to use orbital strikes). And to improve your ship, you need to collect"samples" from the planets in question. There are three types: common samples (green picto), rare samples (orange picto) and super-rare samples (pink picto).
Green and orange samples are easy to find. We won't go into too much detail, but you should know that green samples are available on level 1 maps (anecdotal), and orange samples are available on level 4 maps (dangerous) and above. Here, we're interested in the pink samples, which are extremely rare and indispensable for crafting your ship. At what level and where exactly can you find them? The trick is quite simple, really.
First of all, these samples are available on maps of level 7 (suicidal) and above, on both Terminid andAutomaton planets. There are always three of them for each mission, and finding them is easy enough if you know where to look (on Terminid planets, at least; we haven't yet tried this on Automaton planets...). To find them, then, you'll need to be very observant, and find a unique rock formation, as in the PlayStation tweet below (or on the front-page visual at the top of the article).

Look carefully, as this rock formation is quite small. A word of advice: find an elevated area to get a better view of the terrain. Once you've found it, simply collect the three samples (they're all mercury, so they're all side by side), and above all, don't lose them when you get chilled by a belligerent insect, or you'll have to go and collect your samples from the place where you broke your pipe! And if you don't, we'd like to thank any friends who happen to be passing by and are sure to have recovered your samples. Note that samples are shared with the whole group, so don't panic if one of your team-mates picks them up.
All you have to do is collect them, upgrade your ship and spread democracy... Get to work!
