L'Oréal Paris returns with the 7ᵉ edition of its long-awaited annual Fashion Show, this September 23, 2024, kicking off Paris Fashion Week! It's on the mythical Place de l'Opéra that the beauty brand's emblematic ambassadors will tread the catwalk in fabulous outfits signed by leading Houses. We tell you all about the event and the resulting traffic restrictions.

The l'Oréal Paris 2024 fashion show, organized as part of Paris Fashion Week, is an exceptional event every year, celebrating the emancipation of women, this year on the prestigious Place de l'Opéra. It's worth noting that this fashion show, open to the public free of charge upon reservation, sold out in the blink of an eye. But that doesn't mean you can't see it live. Note that if you're lucky enough to have seats or an elevated location to admire it, traffic restrictions have been put in place in the 9ᵉ arrondissement.

What's with the parade?

The l'Oréal Paris 2024 fashion show is a unique fashion event highlighting women's emancipation, sisterhood and inclusivity. Organized by the official partner of Paris Fashion Week, l'Oréal Paris, it will be held in the Place de l'Opéra, one of the capital's most emblematic locations. This open-air fashion show (and no doubt a rainy one this year) will be a true celebration of femininity and feminism, with bold looks and a powerful message of inclusivity.

Where else in Paris?

In previous editions, L'Oréal Paris has taken over iconic locations such as the Seine, transformed into a catwalk in 2017, or the Champs-Élysées in 2019, offering grandiose fashion shows accessible to the general public.

When does it take place?

On September 23, 2024, starting at 8:30pm, the parade will take place in front of the Paris Opera House. Although the event lasts only one evening, traffic restrictions around the Place de l'Opéra have already begun and will extend until the day after the parade.

Can we get there and where can we see the parade?

Direct access to the fashion show is free with reservation, and the show is already sold out, although the website is announcing that new places will be available soon. Will there be any last-minute tickets? In any case, you can follow the event live on Instagram, on the L'Oréal Paris website, and on Roblox. This feature allows everyone to participate virtually in this celebration of femininity.

Which celebrities will be on parade?

The show brings together an impressive family of international L'Oréal Paris spokespeople. Among the iconic figures expected to appear are Marie Bochet, Cindy Bruna, Camila Cabello, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Luma Grothe, Kendall Jenner, Aja Naomi King, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Bebe Vio and Yseult. These inspiring personalities will carry a strong message of emancipated beauty and inclusivity. They will be joined by other inspiring women, we're told.

What are the traffic restrictions?

Major traffic restrictions are planned around the Place de l'Opéra. According to an order issued by the Préfecture de Police:

  • From 8pm on September 21, 2024 to 6am on September 24, 2024, traffic will be prohibited on Place de l'Opéra, between Rue Auber and Rue Halévy.

  • On September 23, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. the following day, restrictions will extend to the following streets:
    • Rue Auber, between rue Scribe and place de l'Opéra ;
    • Rue Halévy, between Place Jacques-Rouché and Place de l'Opéra;
    • Place de l'Opéra, between rue Auber and boulevard des Capucines;
    • Place de l'Opéra, between rue Halévy and boulevard des Capucines.

These disruptions are likely to have a major impact on traffic in the 9th arrondissement. We therefore advise you to use public transport or walk during these days.

In short, the l'Oréal Paris 2024 fashion show is the major fashion event not to be missed, either on site for those lucky enough to have their passes, or from home, although it will undoubtedly be rained out this year. If you're not going, avoid the crowded 9th arrondissement.
