While modernization work has resumed on some public transport systems, such as line 14, strike action could also disrupt users' daily lives this autumn. In a press release published on September 16, four RATP unions issued strike notice for Tuesday September 24, 2024. The strike notice runs from Monday September 23 at 11pm to Wednesday September 25 at 6am.
In this press release addressed to the RER's operational management, the CGT RATP, FO, La Base RATP andUNSA denounce the " inappropriate control and intervention procedures carried out by SNCF and/or RATP security teams against drivers in cabs [...] during their interoperated journeys on line B ".
" Our 4 trade unions demand that these checks carried out in cabs by safety teams are not subject to degrading actions or overzealousness, and are carried out with respect for everyone ", the unions demand in the letter.
So what exactly can we expect on Tuesday, September 24, 2024? Will traffic be severely disrupted on RER line B? The first traffic forecasts were unveiled on September 22. RATP forecasts disrupted traffic on the whole of RER line B, with 2 trains out of 3 on average. However, the interconnection will be maintained at Gare du Nord, so there will be no need to change trains at this famous Parisian station. More detailed traffic forecasts and timetables will be available from 5pm on Monday.
Before going to the station, it's a good idea to check your train's timetable on the Île-de-France Mobilités app, Transilien.com, RATP.fr, SNCF Connect or your mobility app.
We would also like to remind you that modernization work will cause a number of disruptions on RER line B this autumn.
