From February 7 to April 23, 2024, the Samaritaine in Paris and the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice join forces for an exceptional rendez-vous-exhibition under the aegis of the DFS group, leader in luxury goods. An unprecedented encounter that transforms these two temples to shopping into a veritable declaration of love between the Parisian and Venetian cultures.
On the eve of 2024, the emblematic buildings and districts of Venice are invited into the four walls of La Samaritaine, revealing their charm in every nook and cranny of the address. This new exhibition invites you to stroll from the Venice-Santa Lucia train station to the Grand Canal, via the Pont des Soupirs, iconic sites of the Italian city blending harmoniously with the Parisian atmosphere of the department store.
Paris and Venice, capitals of love par excellence, share a common passion for painting, gastronomy, fashion and hospitality, all the while cultivating a certain element of mystery that gives them their charm. For the occasion, La Samaritaine is transformed into a journey of romantic intrigue, where visitors slip into the shoes of investigators, deciphering clues duringimmersive animations to solve the ultimate enigma: "a Franco-Italian duo has arranged to meet at La Samaritaine, where and when should they meet?"
This investigation also invites visitors to succumb to a selection of Franco-Italian products, as at Loulou's boutique, where the savoir-faire and art de la table of both cultures are celebrated in style.
At the heart of this event, Italian artist Irene Cattaneo exhibits a dreamlike installation of vibrantly colored blown glass clouds, reflecting her perfect mastery of the ancestral Murano technique.
Lee Shulman, with The Anonymous Project, transports visitors back to the 1970s through 3D installations and totems exhibited at La Samaritaine, questioning human relationships and intimacy.
Finally, Italian gastronomy is also exported to Paris at Il Grano, la Samaritaine's new table. On the second floor of the store, discover the cuisine of this family-run restaurant specializing in fresh pasta, bread and pinsa romana, the ancestor of pizza. The menu includes light pinsa, vegetarian lasagne, salads, burrata and an emblematic minestrone that will take your taste buds on a journey to the land of la dolce vita.
Paris and Venice join forces to offer you a unique immersive experience and a sunny interlude in the heart of the French capital.
