A word of warning! Theex-TATI Barbès reopens its doors from August 2 to 5 and August 7 to 10, 2024, resurrected by Youssouf Fofana, the fashion designer behind the Maison Château Rouge label. In collaboration with Jordan brand, this legendary former boutique in the 18th arrondissement is transformed into District 23, an ephemeral hub mixing sport and culture in an ultra-hyped setting! Inspired by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this project is an ode to youth and creativity, so dear to the designer.
Fofana and Jordan wanted to make the spirit of the Olympics accessible to as many people as possible, by combining sport and culture in a hip, free venue. The result? A 6,000 m2 space, fresh and beautiful, combining a library, a café and a store selling Paris souvenirs revisited by local designers. No doubt this spot will become your new summer HQ!
For creative types and DIY enthusiasts, head upstairs for a workshop area, as well as workshops in sewing, dyeing, design and more. Sports fans, meanwhile, can look forward to one-on-one basketball tournaments in Square Léon, activities in partnership with Foot Locker and basketball classes for all levels (scheduled on the Nike app).
On the art side, District 23 hosts Diaspora Renaissance, a contemporary art exhibition in partnership with Easy Otabor of Chicago's Anthony Gallery. Here, discover works by 23 artists from the African, Asian and Latin American diaspora, including Gabriel Moses, Alvin Armstrong and Maty Biayenda.
So, are you ready to fill up on creative and sporting adrenaline?
