The Issy-les-Moulineaux Book Festival 2023: entertainment for all the family

Issy-les-Moulineaux celebrates the pleasure of reading. The Festival du Livre de la Ville returns on Saturday June 17, 2023 for a new edition, under the patronage of renowned American writer Douglas Kennedy. This year, the open-access festival welcomes some thirty authors of general literature, thrillers and children's literature, at theHôtel de Ville and in the square.

On the menu for this literary fair in the south of the capital: meetings with authors, book signings, conferences, open-air readings, dictations for all ages and fun, literary activities for the very young!

Program

• Exhibition: "Rencontre avec l'écrivain chilien Luis Sepúlveda" (Encounter with Chilean writer Luis Sepúlveda), explore his past as an activist, his reflections on friendship, fatherhood and life, through the images of his friend, photographer Daniel Mordzinski.
• 11am: Dictation at threelevels:champion, intermediate and junior.

• 2:30pm: Interview with Douglas Kennedy (Et c'est ainsi que nous vivrons, Belfond), Festival patron. Hosted by Karine Papillaud.
• 5:30pm: Interview with Colombe Schneck (Mensonges au paradis, Grasset), guest of honor. Hosted by Sarah Polacci.
• 3:30 pm: Three female novelists talk about how the characters in their books attracted them. What made them want to follow the first strikers in France, the descendants of a white slave who became a planter in America, or a line of cursed Hollywood stars?
• 4:30 pm: Three authors explain what it was about a news item on the French-Belgian border, a bloody demonstration in Guadeloupe, or the fight against terrorism that obsessed them to the point of devoting a book to it.
• 2:30 pm to6:30 pm: Signings by adult and children's authors
• 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Children's activities. Children will be immersed in the tales of the "Story Corner" with Lire etFaire Lire and media librarians, and can take advantage of various pop-up book and bookmark-making workshops .
