Paris is gradually preparing to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Formes Olympiques Festival, organized by the City of Paris, promises an enriching summer with over 50 free artistic and sporting events, held outdoors or in municipal facilities from June to September 2023. The festival's ambition is to promote popular culture by establishing a dialogue between the artistic and sporting worlds.
The highlights of the program are concentrated over three weekends: June 23 to 25, the second half of August and the Heritage Days on September 16 and 17. In conjunction with the Olympic Games Organizing Committee, the festival seeks to question and explore the relationship between artistic and sporting practices. Now in its third year, the festival is back in force with a variety of events to delight all audiences.
The City of Paris selected 46 artistic projects from over a hundred submissions. With a budget of 5 million euros, including almost 1 million for the 2023 edition of Formes Olympiques, Paris City Hall hopes to offer a lively summer to tourists, but above all to Parisians who don't go on vacation.
