On Friday, Les Bleues comfortably beat Sweden (37-28) in the semi-finals of the World Handball Championship. A victory that came after many others at this World Championship, and which did not help Norway in the final, an opponent already defeated in the main round. TheFrench women's team started off as favourites and did indeed earn a new star on their jersey, after the first two in 2003 and 2017, with a fine 31-28 victory.
Eight months ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Les Bleues are reassuring against the team that has held the title until now and the two-time European champions. While the Norwegians started the World Cup in good spirits, the French have since won all their matches in the competition and had nothing to envy them. The final was far from unprecedented, almost a classic, since the two teams had already faced each other several times in this configuration, with Les Bleues winning in 2017 and the Norwegians in 2021. In the end, the French came out on top!
