The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris made its grand return this Sunday, April 7, 2024! In keeping with tradition, participants set off from the Champs-Élysées to cover the mythical distance of 42.195 kilometers through the French capital's most prestigious thoroughfares before crossing the finish line at Porte Dauphine. Last year, 52 ,000 brave participants braved the capital's bitter cold and wind.
So, who are the winners of this 47th edition? It was Ethiopia's Mulugeta Uma who finished the Paris Marathon first, with a victory time of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 33 seconds, just ahead of the two Kenyans Titus Kipruto and Elisha Rotich. In the women's race, Ethiopia's Mestawut Fikir came out on top, while in the handisport category, France's Julien Casoli finished second, better than in 2023! In the men's race, the first Frenchman, Adrien Toucas, came 12th with a time of 2h17'06'', a less glorious ranking than last year when the first Frenchman came 10th.
Our journalist Margot, after her half-marathon last year, finished the marathon in 4h39! A big bravo to all the day's courageous athletes!
