Many solidarity races take place in the capital, but this is the first time that one of them has been organized in favor of girls' rights, thanks to theNGO Plan International, for a second edition. This Saturday, October 5, 2024, male and female runners are invited to the Bois de Boulogne for two courses to choose from, depending on your fitness: a timed 10km race, a 5km run or a more leisurely walk of this distance from age 6 upwards.
Run for Girls aims to raise awareness of equality between girls and boys, in France and around the world, with all proceeds going to the NGO. These funds will enable concrete action to be taken, for equal access to school, the fight against female genital mutilation, forced marriages and so many other forms of discrimination and violence against young women.
A number of celebrities will be on hand to run alongside you and speak at the event. During the race, you'll find panels to raise awareness of girls' rights, so you can run while learning, a few days before International Girls' Rights Day on October 11. Before the race, you'll be able to take advantage of a village set up in the Bois de Boulogne, with group warm-ups on the program.
It's time to run in solidarity!
