Every year, the month of October is marked by a major breast cancer awareness campaign: Octobre Rose. Throughout the campaign, a wide range of actions are organized to raise public awareness and raise funds for the cause. This initiative by thePink Ribbon association is often launched by a pink-lit Eiffel Tower, as well as other Parisian monuments.

The Eiffel Tower and three other iconic monuments in the capital were decked out in pink this Monday, September 30, 2024, to mark the launch of Pink October. This was an opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer, before a month of fund-raising events. A free show was also staged at Place Vendôme. [Read more]
This year, four of the capital's iconic sites will be decked out in pink October colors on the evening of the launch: the Eiffel Tower, the National Assembly, the Luxor Obelisk on Place de la Concorde and Place Vendôme. The latter was also the venue for a unique show open to the general public.
The event took place on Monday September 30, 2024, at 7:30pm, and featured a musical show by singer Amir. The show, which lasted over an hour, also featured a parade of eight women with breast cancer on this prestigious square, whose column was also illuminated in pink. The show was also attended by three patrons of theRuban Rose association, Claudia Tagbo, Évelyne Dhéliat and Alice Detollenaere.
