If you like to boost your cardio during a sports session, Hyrox sessions are for you! Since early 2024, several gyms have announced the launch of their Hyrox classes.
But what does a Hyrox race actually look like? Launched in Germany in 2017, the Hyrox made its debut in France in 2023. Considered one of the most dynamic fitness races in the world, the Hyrox combines 1 km of running with functional movement, repeating this cycle to total 8 different exercises. The advantage of this fitness race is that it's accessible to all, whether in relay or individually, the aim being to push your limits to the max.
We had the chance to try out a Hyrox training session in the Burning Park at Paris-Diderot 's Fitness Park with a coach. At the start of the class, a connected belt is handed out to everyone so that we can track our heart rate on a giant screen during the session. Sessions are divided into different Hyrox functional movements, such as Skierg, burpees, running, box jumps and walking lunges. Each session lasts 45 minutes and allows you to burn a maximum number of calories while preparing for competition. Other gyms offering Hyrox classes include Le Hyve and RITM.
