Moving with children: a guide to activities, courses and major family sports events

Running around all day, rain, shine or snow, children are an (almost) inexhaustible source of energy. And that's just as well, since sport has never had such an important place in our daily lives as it does these days, with the 2024 Olympics just around the corner. Whether you're looking for sports activities, vacation courses or entertainment at major events, why not get active with your little ones this weekend?

From children's races to vacation sports courses , water sports activities and free sports lessons, Paris doesn't leave sport behind, especially when it comes to kids. And so much the better, because toddlers, children and teenagers need to let off steam, every day!

So, there's no shortage of sports courses during the vacations, with "classic" offerings including martial arts and team sports, or more creative, with more unusual disciplines and courses in dance, hip-hop... On a more ad hoc basis, there are also sports classes for kids, sometimes given with their parents (as with parent-child yoga, for example), sometimes on their own, with no adult other than the sports instructor. Offered in family-run third-party venues, in certain hotels or in the open air, during summer or spring events in certain arrondissements or suburban towns, this is an opportunity to introduce your children to new sporting disciplines and, above all, to spend a convivial moment with them!

Not to mention all the kid-friendly sporting events: we're thinking in particular of children's races organized alongside bigger events, such as the Paris Marathon, during certain 10 km or half-marathons... Or again, animations set up during major sporting events, such as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games or the Rugby World Cup.

Yes, but sport can also be shared with the family: so what better way than to plan a little itinerary for a hike this weekend? With a large number of walking and cycling trails within an hour's drive of Paris, from the center of the capital or even within reach of the Navigo pass, the possibilities are numerous. And with the low gradient of the proposed hiking itineraries, it's the perfect way for a free family outing to discover the forests, ponds and even castles of the Paris region !
