The long-awaited Super Bowl 2025 is just around the corner! Once again this year, there's sure to be plenty to see and do, with a thrilling sporting encounter between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as a musical program to make many envious.
Having already welcomed superstars such as Michael Jackson in 1992, U2 in 2001, The Rolling Stones in 2005, Madonna in 2011, Coldplay in 2015, The Weeknd in 2020, Rihanna in 2023 and Usher last year, the National Football League (NFL) is once again pulling out all the stops for the famous halftime show. This year, for Super Bowl LIX, the NFL has asked Kendrick Lamar to perform the famous"Halftime Show".
Super Bowl 2025: Kendrick Lamar to provide the big half-time show

We still don't know what Kendrick Lamar has in store for us, but there's no doubt that the American artist's Super Bowl concert will leave a lasting impression. Especially since the NFL has revealed that the artist will be well supported. SZA, the famous American R&B singer, will also be on hand to perform alongside the rapper!
Other artists could join them on stage, and rumors are rife. Recent Grammy-winning rapper Doechii could also make an appearance.
Kendrick Lamar's new album,"GNX", was released in 2024. The rapper's sixth studio opus is made up of 12 new tracks, and features a number of fine collaborations, including Lefty Gunplay, AzChike and... SZA!
Although Kendrick Lamar will be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, it's not the first time the American rapper has put on a show for this major sporting event. In 2022, he accompanied Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige on stage in California.
Once again this year, before Kendrick Lamar's performance, other artists will provide the show. The NFL has announced the participation of Jon Batiste, Ledisi, Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty.
Jon Batiste is a talented jazz musician who not only writes, composes and performs, but also conducts and plays piano. Proof of his renown, in 2022 the artist won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his"We Are". That year, Jon Batiste also won in the categories of"Best American roots song and performance" for"Cry","Best soundtrack" for"Soul" and"Best video" for"Freedom".
On February 9, 2025, during the Super Bowl, Jon Batiste will have the honor of singing the American national anthem, after Chris Stapleton in 2023 and Reba McEntire in 2024.
Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty are also announced for the Super Bowl 2025 pre-game. The contemporary Christian singer-songwriter will sing " America the Beautiful ", one of a series of three songs performed as an opener to the Super Bowl finale. For the occasion, Lauren Daigle will not be alone, as she will be accompanied by American jazz musician Trombone Shorty, whose real name is Troy Andrews.
Finally, artist Ledisi will also be on hand to open the festivities, alongside Jon Batiste, Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty. The American R&B and neo soul singer has been invited to sing " Lift Every Voice and Sing ", after Andra Day last year.
