The event is eagerly awaited by many singers. Every winter, for 40 years now, the industry has been presenting awards to artists from the world of variety music.
The Victoires de la Musique were first held in 1985, at the instigation of Claude Fléouter, Denys Limon and Pascale Tardy, and the then Minister of Culture and Communication, Jack Lang. That same year, Jeanne Mas won the Female Performer of the Year award, while Michel Jonasz took the Male Performer prize. In subsequent years, Catherine Lara, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Johnny Hallyday, France Gall, Mylène Farmer, Vanessa Paradis, Patrick Bruel, Alain Bashung, -M-, Renaud, Zazie, Florent Pagny , Benjamin Biolay and Pomme all won prizes.
This year, the Victoires de la Musique celebrate their 40th anniversary! Presented by Léa Salamé and Cyril Féraud, the ceremony will be broadcast live on France 2 and France Inter this Friday, February 14, 2025 from 9:10pm.
As in previous years, the evening will be punctuated by a number of live performances by most of the nominees. As for the nominees, the Victoires de la Musique 2025 will feature an eclectic mix of award-winning artists such as Clara Luciani and Zaho de Sagazan, as well as up-and-coming talents like Tiakola. On the other hand, there's plenty of suspense on the revelations front, with Solann, Yoa, Styleto, Pierre Garnier, Aliocha Schneider and Lucky Love all competing.
For the rest of the evening, the Victoires de la Musique also plans to award two honorary trophies to two great artists of French chanson. Alain Souchon, who has already won awards at the Victoires de la Musique, notably in 2015 and 2020, has been named honorary president of this 40th ceremony. Nominees, who will sing, trophies of honor, honorary president... here's everything you need to know about the 2025 Victoires de la Musique.
