Created in 1989 by Gérard Bekerman, economist and Chairman of Afer, the Concours International des Grands Amateurs de Piano is aimed at top-level amateurs.
The originality of the Competition lies in the fact that we are not dealing with amateurs in the usual sense of the term, with "dilettantes", but with pianists "who don't just do that", with musicians who, one day in their lives, have had to make an often difficult choice between their profession and the concert career they did not embark on, a choice between what allows them to live and their love of music. All of them have a job: doctor, lawyer, student, retired person, employee, engineer...
Each year, the jury is made up of renowned pianists and personalities: Marisa Bruni Tedeschi, Germaine Devèze, Sabine Lacoarret, Reiko Nakaoki, Marc Laforet, Eric Heidsieck, Christian Debrus, Désiré N'Kaoura, Karol Beffa, Pierre Cheremetiev, Siheng Song, Tristan Pfaff, François Chaplin, Momo Kodama, Muza Rubackyte, Elena Kroon, Hélène Mercier, Ewa Osinska, François-René Duchable, Yves Henry, Hubert Guillard, Pierre Cheremetiev, Marc André, etc...
The semi-final will take place on Friday, March 31 at 6pm at the Mairie du 16e, and the Final on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 3:30pm at the Grand Amphi d'Assas!
