A remarkable flautist: Jean-Christophe Hurtaud, trained at the Dutch recorder school with Claire Michon and harpsichordist Blandine Verlet, a member of France's great Baroque ensembles.
Angel Villart, a young exponent of the French classical accordion school, has arranged and adapted these pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries, written for two tops and basso continuo.
This classical accordion performs the basso continuo with suppleness, energy and virtuosity, illuminating the musical discourse in an original way.
The concert opens the 13th edition of Hors Saison Musicale, a winter program aimed at the rural world, under the aegis of the association Pour Que l'Esprit Vive.
From mid-October to mid-April, some 60 church concerts and 160 musical interventions for the elderly, the isolated and children are scheduled in over 22 départements.
A total of 70 professional musicians of national and international stature will be welcomed in all these villages, under the direction of Agnès Desjobert and the patronage of composer Benoît Menut.
