This year, many tributes were paid to Charles Aznavour. And with good reason: 2024 marks the centenary of the birth of this immense artist of French song. A film, simply entitled"Monsieur Aznavour", is also due for release on October 23, with actor Tahar Rahim in the title role.
A few days before, France 3 plans to broadcast the concert event"Eternel Aznavour". To be broadcast in prime time on Friday, October 18, 2024, this musical evening will pay tribute to the interpreter of " La Bohème " by inviting a host of artists from the French music scene. Among them? Grand Corps Malade, Santa, Patrick Fiori, Eddy de Pretto, Bénabar, Thomas Dutronc, Calogero and Pierre Garnier, winner of the last Star Academy.
Surrounded by a 22-strong orchestra, the artists will take to the stage to perform some of Charles Aznavour's legendary songs, including " Emmenez-moi ", " Hier encore " and " Je m'voyais déjà ". " Each performance will be a vibrant tribute to the man who marked generations with his profound lyrics and unforgettable voice," explains France Télévisions in a press release issued on September 24.
"Eternal Aznavour" will also be an opportunity to learn more about the man and artist, who died on October 1, 2018, through rare archive footage from Charles Aznavour's private collection.
