From September 7 to 9, 2017, the Cour d'Honneur des Invalides will host an Opéra en Plein Air at the start of the new school year, as part of the Festival Opéra en Plein Air . Each year, this festival features a revisiting of an opera by a personality who is usually a stranger to the operatic arts, such as economist Jacques Attali, singer and actress Arielle Dombasle or journalist Patrick Poivre d'Arvor.
This year, actress and producer Julie Gayet, accompanied by Kên Higelin, is staging W.A. Mozart's famous Marriage of Figaro, an opera buffa inspired by Beaumarchais' comedyThe Marriage of Figaro, set in a castle near Seville.
The two comparses stage a cast of twenty opera singers from the Chœur Opéra en Plein Air and actors, set to music by conductor Yannis Pouspourikas under the direction of Anne Gravoin.
For this 17th edition, the stage layout has also been completely redesigned to give spectators better acoustics, optimal comfort and excellent visibility. To be well placed, we advise you to come at 7pm (when the gates open), even if the show doesn't start until 9pm.
