Bartabas, the horseman who whispers in his horses' ears, invites you to discover his latest show at the Zingaro equestrian theater, which he founded at the Fort d'Aubervilliers in 1989. This year's Cabaret de l'Exil focuses on Persian women, after having explored Yiddish culture and then that of the Irish Travellers. The show originally ran from October 20 to December 31, 2023, but thanks to its success, it's back again in November and December 2024! Enjoy an exceptional equestrian cabaret show about peoples in exile, inviting you to travel.
Persian, Afghan and Iranian women assert their identity and summon ancestral memory, that of the ancient Scythian civilization founded on matriarchy. Long before the wars of today, this nomadic people had achieved gender equality thanks to the horse, for riding long distances and encouraging their mounts into battle was the prerogative of women as much as men. The same was true of the arts, and Iranian musicians, singers and dancers will be demonstrating this to you.
This new show pays tribute to these women, and, alongside Bartabas' troupe, presents the song of an emancipated Persian woman, through the voices of famous or anonymous poetesses, claiming her rights. Under the big top, enjoy international cuisine and a bar in a convivial atmosphere, before or after the show.
