La Machine à remonter le Rock is back for 18 exceptional dates at the Théâtre Bobino in Paris's 14th arrondissement. Created by Thibault Lavigne, Florent Maurin and Lucas Jumelle, the musical takes you back to the 50s, where thehistory of Rock'N'Roll began.
Presented at the Festival Off d'Avignon in 2022, the show was well received by critics and audiences alike, and won the Best Set Design award at the Cyrano 2023 ceremony. Directed by Kevin Goret, the show pays tribute to Rock. Through the story of the main character, John, the authors hope to help audiences discover or re-discover the history of a musical genre that has marked entire generations. Even today, rock continues to make young people dance on dancefloors the world over. John, the protagonist of the story, invites you to discover his Rock Machine, the project of his life. His plan? Hack into all the world's radio stations and broadcast his precious rock through a revolutionary process...
Thibault Lavigne, Florent Maurin and Lucas Jumelle take the audience through the great moments inrock history, from the fusion of rhythm'n'blues and country in the early 50s, through the Roaring Twenties in the USA, to the rise of rock'n'roll in England. A long musical journey!
