A great success at last year's Théâtre Montparnasse, Le Pianiste Aux 50 Doigts is a celebration of the legendary pianist György Cziffra, on the 30th anniversary of his death. Over the course of a season, pianist Pascal Amoyel has brought together works by great composers such as Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, Aram Katchatourian, Olivier Greif, George Gershwin and Duke Ellington, as well as improvisations by Pascal Amoyel. The event promises a harmonious marriage of music and text, directed by Christian Fromont!
In support of cancer research at the Hôtel de Ville, Pascal Amoyel invites us to an exceptional performance in the Salons de l'Hôtel de Ville in Paris. The piece plunges us into his dressing room just before he takes to the stage. There, he unpacked his scores and found an envelope addressed to no. 16 rue Ampère, where Cziffra and Amoyel worked together. The performer, who begins the show in his own role, slips into György Cziffra's shoes, reliving his first encounter with the Master at the age of 13, and drawing the audience into the incredible life of this legendary Hungarian pianist.
A true revelation in the world of live performance, Le pianiste aux 50 doigts has met with ever-growing critical and public success since its premiere at the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu in 2010. Don't miss this remarkable musical event for one evening!
