From January 30 to February 10, 2024, the Théâtre du Rond-Point hosts "Les Sentinelles", a play directed by the renowned Jean-François Sivadier, inviting Parisian audiences on an intimate journey exploring the roots of art and friendship.
At the heart of this on-stage narrative is the destiny of three young virtuoso pianists - Mathis, Swan and Raphaël. Their paths cross in adolescence, and they form an inseparable trio. " Les Sentinelles" explores their interactions, where affection and competition are subtly intertwined. The delicate balancing act between these characters unfolds against a sound canvas of excerpts from Bach, Chopin and Shostakovich, the better to highlight their passionate debates about ideas and interpretation.
The play is performed by three actors, Vincent Guédon, Julien Romelard and Samy Zerrouki, who bring to life this odyssey full of sensitivity, humor and emotion. It reveals the secret aspirations and turbulence that stir the heart of every artist.
The text, staging and set design, all conceived by Jean-François Sivadier, are complemented by an artistic collaboration by Rachid Zanouda, with sound design by Jean-Louis Imbert: the production is also the fruit of a collaboration between several theaters and cultural institutions, marking the significance of this work in the contemporary theatrical landscape.
"Les Sentinelles" is aimed at all lovers of contemporary theater, but especially of art and classical music. An invitation to reflect on the links between art and life, and on how artists help and challenge each other in their creative quest, at the Théâtre du Rond-Point from January 30 to February 10, 2024.
