Alexis Michalik's Le Porteur d'Histoire coming soon to Théâtre du Petit Montparnasse

Le Porteur d'Histoire, the first play by celebrated contemporary playwright Alexis Michalik, runs at the Théâtre du Petit Montparnasse from September 14 to December 17, 2024. The play is an adventure story in which the spectator travels through time.

Le Porteur d'Histoire tells the the story of Martin Martin, who is preparing to bury his father when he discovers a mysterious manuscript that threatens to change his life.Alexis Michalik 's lead character takes the audience on a wild ride through history and continents, all from the comfort of the Théâtre du Petit Montparnasse. But fifteen years later, a mother and daughter disappear in the heart of the Algerian desert, having been led astray by an unknown man's wild tale...

In a relatively restrained production, Alexis Michalik brings together five actors on stage to tell the story of Martin Martin's journey. The spectator travels from country to country and era to era, sometimes meeting illustrious characters and sometimes complete strangers. Le Porteur d'Histoire won the Molière for Best Playwright and Molière for Best Director in 2014, and more than ten years after its premiere, is a must-see cult play if you love contemporary theater.

Alexis Michalik is a French actor, director, playwright and screenwriter, best known for his work as a playwright and director. His first major success was Le Porteur d'Histoire in 2013, quickly followed by other critically acclaimed plays such as Edmond, which won 5 Molières, and Une Histoire d'Amour, which won a Molière.
