The Art of Blue Sky Studio arrives in Paris, at the Musée Art Ludique, for an exhibition devoted to the Ice Age universe. Blue Sky Studio was founded in 1987, initially working onspecial effects for the Fox Entertainment Group, then making short films(Balloon Guy, Joe's Apartment). It wasn't until 2002, with the Ice Age saga, that the studio made a name for itself.
With its anti-heroes, Sid the good-hearted sloth and Scrat the unlucky squirrel, aided by the big bullies, Manny the mammoth and Diego the tiger, Ice Age managed to gather over 24 million French cinema-goers in 4 episodes, with the 5th being released in French cinemas on July 22, 2016.
This exhibition is also an opportunity to discover the production stages of Blue Sky Studios animated films, through more than 800 drawings, paintings and sculptures, film extracts and interviews with the graphic designers and producers!
Conceived by Art Ludique with the close involvement of the studio's artists and directors, this exhibition event will also feature the full-length short film Bunny, winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 1999, in a version remastered for the occasion, as well as the recent films Robots, Epic, Horton, Rio and Snoopy and the Peanuts.
In addition, a selection of major historical works will revisit the work of early 20th-century animation pioneers and illustrators from the East Coast of the United States, highlighting the sources of inspiration for Blue Sky Studio.
This exhibition is a real opportunity to discover more about the Ice Age universe before (or after) seeing Episode 5, Ice Age, Laws of the Universe.
