Musée d’Orsay is currently and exceptionally exhibiting a selection of works by Camille Claudel preempted on November 27, 2017 by the State during the Artcurial sale. Running from January 9 to February 11, 2018, in the Françoise Cachin gallery, on the second floor of the museum, you shouldn’t miss this exhibition.

Preempted, what’s that? Before talking about the Camille Claudel exhibition at Musée d’Orsay, here’s a definition: “(right of) preemption: contractual right under which a party has the first opportunity to buy an asset before it is offered to a third party.”

So, for the record, back in November, the French version of Sortiraparis talked about the auction sale of artworks (sculptures and drawings) by Camille Claudel at Artcurial. If the famous auction sale house already organized an artwork exhibition, the French State extends viewers’ pleasure thanks to the right of preemption allowing Musée d’Orsay to exceptionally present these Camille Claudel artworks  before they find new owners.

Rodin connoisseurs, discover or rediscover the one who used to be his muse and first of all his inspirator and that recently saw a museum named after her, about one-hour drive from Paris.

You’ll have the occasion to look in the same look as men and women she used to portrait, her big specialty. You’ll see, the realism is incredible, no matter if she paints or sculpts!
