Beaugrenelle, true to its vocation of marrying shopping and art, is once again putting the art scene in the spotlight with a magnificent exhibition by photographer Martin Parr called Foodographie.
After a FIAC partner exhibition " Think Big " in 2015, Felice Varini 's ephemeral works in 2017, and the superb performance by plant designer Alexis Tricolore in early 2018, it's the famous British photographer's turn to take over the atrium.
A good meal is as much for the taste buds as for the eyes. From June 30 to September 3, 2018, Beaugrenelle invites us to feast on the artist's photographs, free of charge. At a time when food photography has the wind in its sails and is exploding, thanks in particular to Instagram, it's time to go and admire and be inspired by these works that blend so-British humor, pop culture and gourmandise.
In this groundbreaking exhibition, conceived by Magnum Photos and Manifesto, Martin Parr takes a mischievous look at food, having observed eating habits around the world for over 20 years.
The selection of 26 brightly colored photos, printed in XXL format, is divided into 3 mealtime highlights: the art of the table, which highlights the details of meals; finger food, which celebrates dishes eaten on the go and with the fingers; and café gourmand, which shows sweet indulgence in all its forms.
Come and discover how the artist, through his compositions and particularly his close-ups, succeeds in conveying the pleasure of gastronomy and titillating our imagination.
In short, this is a gourmet exhibition, a real aesthetic appetizer, to be discovered from July to September 2018!
Another good idea: note that this free exhibition is accompanied by tastings on the weekends of July 7 & 8 and July 14 & 15 from 3pm to 5pm, so you can combine a visit with gourmet delights.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
