Bernard Frize in the spotlight... The French artist, one of the essential painters of the international art scene, is thus devoted a monograph around his work at the Centre Pompidou from May 29 to August 26, 2019. An exhibition designed with the artist himself, at the invitation of theParisian establishment.
A retrospective around the work of Bernard Frize that gives an account of the multiple facets of his work, through the presentation of more than 70 works created from his beginnings in 1976 until today. The artist is best known for his abstract and"serial conceptual" paintings, but he has not hesitated to insert figurative elements into his work since the 1980s, while at the same time taking an interest in photography.
A monograph that highlights"the thematic intentions that guide the artist in the design of his paintings. And themes addressed in his works, such as the absurd, laziness, the system, continuity, randomness orvirtuosity. Works that, in the end, do not cease to question the role of the painter in his art and more broadly within the international scene, in his field of predilection. Let's go for a walk, friends?
