Yann Arthus-Bertrand has been travelling the world for about 50 years. All along this long career, he photographed the Earth, men and animals.
From June 28 to December 1, 2019 the Legacy exhibition returns on 50 years of photographic and cinematographic work at La Défense Grande Arche.
All in all, over 250 pictures are unveiled to the public in a space covering 1200sqm while in the auditorium, 5 movies by Yann Arthus-Bertrand are screened.
For this exhibition, the Arche du photo-journalisme offers a theme-based reading and not a chronological order of the pictures taken by the photographer: the first photographs by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in a hot-air balloon in Kenya, photographs of the owners posing with their animals; portraits of French people and of course, his most famous project: Earth from Above.
With this exhibition, these pictures and movies screened on the spot, Yann Arthus-Bertrand hopes to raise awareness about protecting the environment and remind the harmful impact of men on the fauna and flora. With so many years of work under his belt, the photographer has seen Earth change noticeably.
An exhibition to remind us again and always that protecting the Earth is one of most important issues of these upcoming years!
