As part of the demanding Festival d’Automne, also displaying the exhibition by Armenian artist Anna Boghiguian at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Paris, the creation carried out by Cypriot artist Christodoulos Panayiotou (born in 1978) has been thought in situ especially for the Musée d’Orsay.
Christodoulos Panayiotou starts here a conversation with the place and his story, by highlighting pieces collected within the museum, fragments telling about it and transforming it thanks to the artist, new works.
As a kind of modern time archeologist, Christodoulos Panayiotou aims at unveiling the mysteries of the art things to study them closer and create a thought that doesn’t stop in front of a prejudice. Because to him, fame and anonymity are mixing as well as sublime and waste.
This exhibition tunes in with the Festival d’Automne, also presented at the Musée d’Orsay (on October 19 and 23 and December 14): called Dying on Stage, it’s a staged reading including video clips about death that Christodoulos Panayiotou interviews through dance.
Fascinating!
