Art Basel Paris 2024: giant mushrooms decorate Place Vendôme

Every year, the Place Vendôme plays host to an unusual, monumental work of art at Paris's unmissable contemporary art fair. For several weeks, from October 11 to November 24, 2024, Belgian artist Carsten Höller will grace the famous Parisian square as part of the Art Basel Paris art event, immersing us in his unique universe.

A symbol of power, an architectural jewel, a center of luxury jewelry: the Place Vendôme is one of the capital's pearls. Once again this year, Place Vendôme becomes a showcase for the work of a world-renowned artist. And for this latest edition, the work of Carsten Höller, presented by Gagosian, has been chosen. We admire"Giant Triple Mushroom", a monumental and astonishing installation, which brings a touch of fantasy and nature to the famous Parisian square.

Carsten Höller grows giant mushrooms in the middle of Paris: this two-metre-high sculpture is a mixture of three different mushrooms, cut and reassembled to show the plant's evolution. With his creations, the Belgian artist pushes us to question reality, bringing magic and spirituality to very natural and scientific subjects.

It's a work of art to be seen free of charge and without delay, as Art Basel Paris only lasts a few days! So don't miss this installation, and don't miss the other works installed all over Paris either.
