The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris presents the first retrospective ofHubert Duprat 's work in France. The artist, who is still active, exhibits his personal collection entitled Le Miroir du Trichoptère. More than 2,000 objects, films, photos and prints retrace Hubert Duprat's career and experiences. The exhibition runs from September 18, 2020 to January 10, 2021.
Hubert Duprat created a curious body of work, using innovative techniques. Theexhibition at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris brings together sculptures, photos, films and books that reflect these years of artistic research and pioneering work.
For over 30 years, the contemporary artist has been inspired by Trichoptera larvae, small insects that build cocoons from objects found in their environment. Hubert Duprat has chosen to give the insects gold threads, pearls and other delicate pieces to see them build unique cases, fashioned by both man and animal.
Duprat's works are marked by this singularity, these surprising and fascinating alliances. In the course of the exhibition, we discover tiny or gigantic pieces, statues made of coral and breadcrumbs, polystyrene or quartz. The artist gives new forms to his works and creates unexpected hybrids.
This retrospective is an opportunity to discover a unique artist and revolutionary pieces. Let yourself be tempted by this unique experience at the Musée d'Art Moderne. You can also admire paintings by Victor Brauner, the subject of a retrospective during the same period.
